Workshop Leader: KVK

As an award-winning filmmaker specializing in directing, concept development, cinematography, and editing, KVK has been working in the media creation industry for over a decade. Most recently, they were part of the Stratford Festival’s Film & Distribution department, where they developed the festival’s first video podcast series, Director’s Notes, edited Peter Pasyk’s award-winning short film, The Understudy, and served as Director of Photography and editor for the award-winning series Just Short of Reality.

A grassroots artist at heart, KVK’s career has been built on collaborating with artists, brands, and organizations to create content that aligns with their missions and connects with audiences in meaningful ways.

In addition to filmmaking, KVK has an extensive improv background, having trained at The Second City and performed regularly as part of an improv troupe for three years. Their experience in improvisation informs their approach to storytelling and on-camera presence, helping creators loosen up, embrace spontaneity, and connect authentically with their audience.

For the past decade, Stratford, ON, has also been KVK’s creative headquarters. Drawn in by the city’s thriving artistic communities—from live theatre to culinary arts to the entrepreneurial creative spirit—they are now taking the next step in giving back. With the increasing demand for media content in today’s social media-driven world—especially video content—KVK recognizes how important it is for fellow grassroots artists to feel equipped and confident in creating their own work. Through this introductory workshop, KVK aims to empower artists with the tools and skills they need to harness social media as a powerful creative platform.
