Unwind and ease into traditional weaving in this heritage textile workshop. Evidence of weaving has been discovered as far back as the Paleolithic Era to make both sophisticated and plain, woven cloth. If you are interested in travelling back 27,000 years, come and join this evening of weaving. In this workshop you will learn how to warp a small loom and experiment with different weaving techniques to create a small coaster or bookmark.

Workshop Leader: Barb Hagarty
Barb Hagarty began to actively engage with the history of creating fiber through the practice of tatting. From here she transitioned to working with other historical forms of fiber creation such nalbinding, drop spindle spinning and sprang. Her goal is to share knowledge of ancient techniques of fiber creation and create contemporary interest in these ancient practices.
